Amsterdam, the Netherlands – Philips Foundation today announced that Margot Cooijmans has decided to step down as Senior Director of Philips Foundation, to pursue other professional and personal ambitions outside Philips. Starting August 1, she will be succeeded by Dr. Eddine Sarroukh, reporting to Marnix van Ginneken, Chief ESG & Legal Officer and Chair of Philips Foundation.
Margot joined the Philips Foundation in 2016. Under her steadfast leadership to expand healthcare access for the underserved, Philips Foundation evolved from a charity and donations-based organization, to one that drives increased social impact through its portfolio of health technology ventures.
Eddine joined Philips in 2001 where he held various leadership positions across research, innovation and global development. Since 2021, Eddine has played an incremental role in shaping and advancing Philips Foundation’s impact investment strategy. Before joining Philips, Eddine served as Senior Advisor on Innovation and Technology to the United Nations.
Marnix van Ginneken: "I would like to thank Margot for her commitment to the Philips Foundation. The Foundation would not be where it is today without her. At the same time, I would also like to extend a warm welcome to Eddine. We look forward to the new perspectives and enthusiasm he will bring, supporting the Foundation’s mission to provide access to quality healthcare for 100 million people a year in underserved communities by 2030."
