According to the World Bank and the World Health Organization (2017), nearly half of the world’s population lacks access to essential health services, while a hundred million people fall into poverty each year due to unavoidable healthcare costs. By working together with non-governmental organizations, local entrepreneurs, governments, and healthcare providers, at the Philips Foundation we are committed to provide access to quality healthcare for 100 million people a year in underserved communities by 2030.
Philips Foundation supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Our mission reflects our commitment to SDG 3 (Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages) and SDG 17 (Revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development).
The reports highlights 22 ongoing and new initiatives in partnership with NGOs, governments, universities and social enterprises. Philips Foundation and its partners unlocked access to quality medical services for over 28 million people in underserved communities in 2023, marking an increase from 2022.
