Amsterdam, the Netherlands – Bert van Meurs has been appointed to the Philips Foundation Board, effective January 1, 2026, further strengthening the Foundation’s leadership as it advances its mission to enable access to quality healthcare for underserved communities. He succeeds Robert Metzke, who stepped down from the Board following his departure from Philips in 2025.
Bert is Executive Vice President and Chief Business Leader of Image Guided Therapy, co-responsible for Diagnosis & Treatment, and a member of the Philips Executive Committee. He brings decades of demonstrated leadership experience in the healthcare sector across multiple senior roles, complemented by deep domain expertise.
Throughout his career, Bert has focused on moving healthcare innovation beyond individual technologies, toward integrated solutions that work within real-world health systems. He has worked closely with partners across sectors to support models of care that can be sustained, scaled, and adapted across different contexts.
