Through the Philips Foundation, local humanitarian organization Children’s Heart Association can provide Romanian hospitals with medical equipment to treat people with COVID-19 and supply essential tools to prevent people from being infected. Philips Romania also joined efforts by supporting the Give Life Association in the fight against the outbreak.

Bucharest, Romania – The Children’s Heart Association will provide hospitals in Romania with monitors for tracking patients’ vital signs, UV lights to disinfect surfaces, and personal protection equipment for medical staff. Educational materials for elderly patients about COVID-19 prevention will also be developed.

"Philips Foundation sees the need for action in this global pandemic, where a lack of access to quality healthcare has become apparent all over the globe. With our interventions throughout the world, leveraging the expertise of Philips, we can help address severe effects of COVID-19," said Margot Cooijmans, Director of the Philips Foundation.

Previously, Philips Romania had already contributed financially to the Give Life Association to increase medical capacity and supplies in the fight against COVID-19.

"I am proud that our people are stepping up to support healthcare providers and their patients," Marcin Molin, Personal Health General Manager, Philips South-Eastern Europe, said. "We try to help limit the effects of this pandemic in the regions where we are present, including Romania. We understand how important it is to support the medical system in this situation and the heroes who are present in the front lines."
